JUUN.J's black has joined a large-scale art exhibition featuring 48 K-pop artists. JUUN.J, the global designer brand of Samsung C&T Fashion Group, announced on the 27th that it had collaborated on the wardrobe for 'D'FESTA THE ORIGIN,' an exhibition that casts an artistic light on 48 K-pop artists. The collaboration is notable for reframing artists known for the stage through the lens of fashion and art.

The exhibition is a large-scale project bringing together 48 artists from nine groups and acts โ€” G-DRAGON, BTS, Stray Kids, TOMORROW X TOGETHER, aespa, ENHYPEN, IVE, RIIZE and CORTIS โ€” along with creators from a range of disciplines. Going beyond music and performance, it will showcase the artists' many facets through photography, video, fashion and fine art.

The exhibition's overarching concept is 'Pagak (็ ดๆฎผ, Breakthrough),' meaning to break out of the shell and step into a new world. The aim is to shed light on new possibilities for K-pop, rooted in the dreams the artists first held and their passion for the stage.

JUUN.J said its participation was meaningful in that it brought the brand's own philosophy to an exhibition that presents the artists through a fresh, artistic lens. Within the exhibition's theme of breaking through the shell, JUUN.J's aesthetic of dismantling the familiar meshed with the artists' dynamic energy to achieve an artistic accomplishment, according to the brand.

Paired with the work of top Korean photographers, JUUN.J's garments expressed the artists' presence through black, the brand's defining color. The brand noted that the depth of black โ€” a color that holds all colors โ€” harmonized naturally with the boundless potential of the artists behind the stage.

So what kind of clothes made an appearance? The key looks presented in the exhibition embody JUUN.J's aesthetic of twisting classic elements to propose a new order. Designs that reinterpret heavy leather in a contemporary way, finished with precise tailoring, are a prime example. The brand's philosophy of boldly combining contrasting items to break down the boundaries of gender and form is also reflected throughout the wardrobe.

Structural variations on the shape of garments are another defining feature. The contrast between restrained lines and dramatically voluminous forms heightens the sense of visual dimension. In particular, the styling of layering outerwear over outerwear breaks established formulas and proposes new proportions โ€” an approach that, according to the brand, reflects JUUN.J's identity of moving beyond conventional frameworks in pursuit of the new.

"Black is JUUN.J's design language, one that clearly reveals differences in form and proportion, and through it we translated the world of this exhibition into three-dimensional garments," said Jung Wook-jun, Vice President and creative director of JUUN.J. "Taking this project โ€” which projects the narratives of world-class artists through the language of JUUN.J โ€” as a starting point, we will continue to engage with diverse cultures around the world and steadily expand our influence in the global fashion market."

'D'FESTA THE ORIGIN' runs through November 30 at MPX Gallery, located in the L3 North Atrium of IFC Mall in Yeouido, Seoul. Following its Seoul debut, the exhibition is scheduled to travel to Tokyo in January 2027 and to other major cities around the world.
