Swedish outdoor brand Peak Performance has launched the Helium Utility Down Hood, a new model in its signature Helium down line, for the Fall/Winter 2026 season. The company describes the piece as one that translates the light of nature and the temperature of the seasons into color.
Celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, Peak Performance is rolling out a series of initiatives this season: a new product launch, a campaign reveal, limited-edition releases and a department store pop-up. The program puts the “bold color contrast” the brand has championed for four decades front and center across both product and space.
Peak Performance was founded in 1986 in Åre, Sweden. It began when two freeride skiers, unable to find the skiwear they wanted, decided on a ski lift in Åre to create their own brand. Their original vision was to combine functionality capable of withstanding Åre’s unpredictable mountain weather with a design that was both striking and clean.

Over the past 40 years, according to the company, Peak Performance has centered its identity on boldness, progressiveness and a distinctly Scandinavian sensibility, carrying forward daring contrasts of color and form as its signature language.

The Helium Utility Down Hood was conceived as the product that most vividly expresses this sense of color. Each colorway features distinct contrast tones on the chest and sleeve pockets and zippers, so that two or three colors create a rhythm within a single jacket.
The jacket comes in four colors: Black, Off White, Mountain Blush and Tan. According to the company, each color captures a different moment in the Scandinavian landscape.

On the functional side, the jacket retains the Helium line’s signature wave quilting and lightweight feel. It adds adjustable drawcords at the hood, hem and cuffs, as well as a packable design that allows the entire jacket to be folded into the left pocket. The company says it was designed to be worn effortlessly in everyday life, moving between the mountains and the city.

Alongside the launch, the brand unveiled its FW26 campaign, “A MOUNTAIN LIGHT THAT LOOKS LIKE YOU.” Built around the message of “wearing the light of nature that resembles you,” the campaign portrays individual personalities against a different natural scene for each color: a snowy peak flushed with pink (THE PEAK, BLUSHING), a canyon settled in sunset glow (EARTH, STILL WARM) and a snowfield where light and shadow intersect (QUIET AND CERTAIN).
Models Cheong Sol, Park Ji-won and Choi Ji-min appear in the campaign, showcasing the color spectrum of the Helium series.

In addition to the four Helium Utility Down Hood colorways, the campaign also features the Helium Down Hood Jacket, a regular-fit all-rounder down jacket. Offered in colors including Antarctica, Frost Blossom and Sand, it highlights the broad color range of the Helium line.

The lineup will continue to expand. On October 15, two limited-edition styles, the Helium Utility Goose Down Hood and the Helium Nova Jacket, are scheduled for release.
The brand is also creating an offline touchpoint. From October 15 to 28, Peak Performance will operate the “Color Cord Atelier” pop-up store at Shinsegae Department Store’s Gangnam flagship. Themed around “colors from nature,” the pop-up will showcase the brand’s signature colors inspired by Scandinavian nature, including pink, tan and green, throughout the space. The company said it plans to design the pop-up as a place where visitors can see and try on Peak Performance’s 40-year legacy of color firsthand.

“For Peak Performance, color is a way of recording the seasons and light we encounter in the mountains,” a Peak Performance representative said. “This season, we wanted to convey the boldness that began in the mountains of Åre 40 years ago through the colors of nature that reflect each individual.”
