Hazzys, the premium contemporary casual brand under LF, has brought a "premium fashion outerwear" offering, set apart by its materials, colors and silhouettes, to a lightweight padded jacket market long dominated by sports and outdoor labels. Hazzys said it is ramping up distribution and marketing for NOVA, the lightweight outerwear line it launched this fall/winter season. The idea is to move beyond conventional lightweight puffers built around being light and warm, and to elevate the category into polished fashion outerwear through premium materials, refined silhouettes and soft, light colors. Offered across men's, women's and kids', NOVA is set to be developed into a signature premium outerwear line the whole family can wear.

Hazzys explained that the criteria consumers use to choose lightweight padded jackets are changing. Where weight and warmth were once the main considerations, shoppers are now increasingly weighing hand feel, appearance, and how a jacket's silhouette and color look when worn. The company's view is that lightweight puffers, once bought mainly within the function-driven sports and outdoor segment, are expanding into fashion outerwear that completes an everyday look.
The first thing NOVA strips away is the sporty impression typical of lightweight puffers. The women's NOVA line in particular sets itself apart from the ultralight down familiar from sports and outdoor brands, emphasizing refined materials and feminine silhouettes. Non-quilting construction that minimizes visible stitch lines on the exterior, hidden closures, and sculpted silhouettes such as A-line and cocoon fits give the pieces an appearance closer to fashion outerwear than to performance padding.

The color palette also departs from existing lightweight outerwear. Unlike previous products dominated by dark shades such as black and navy, NOVA leans heavily into "light & neutral" colors including oatmeal, brown and fog gray. According to the brand, these understated tones pair well with premium fall/winter materials such as cashmere and knits, broadening the jackets' use from a functional throw-on layer to outerwear that completes an entire look.
While playing up fashion appeal, Hazzys has applied its accumulated outerwear-making expertise to the core functions of lightweight outerwear. Because such pieces must stay light while maintaining sufficient warmth and a stable shape, they require precise engineering, from the combination of fabric and fill to sewing, patterns and trims. The lighter the garment, the more small differences in materials and manufacturing technique translate into comfort and finish. For NOVA, Hazzys used materials suited to each product, including imported premium Japanese yarns and in-house developed fabrics, and meticulously engineered the weight and wearing comfort of everything from shell, lining and fill to trims.
The men's NOVA line uses low-denier ultralight materials, bringing key styles down to around 340g, a lightness the company describes as comparable to outdoor gear. It also incorporates premium materials such as a pleat-textured Komatsu fabric from Japan, rarely seen in ultralight outerwear, to emphasize a fabric character and everyday styling distinct from performance-focused outdoor wear.

The women's NOVA line uses ultralight 20-denier fabric for a light, soft feel. Weights across the range have been reduced to the 200g–300g range while preserving the silhouettes characteristic of the women's line. The signature half-length jacket dropped from 530g to 363g, a reduction of about 31%; the short jacket comes in at 377g even including its dedicated packable bag, and the vest at 273g, making them easy to carry for everyday use, travel and other occasions.

The brand is also introducing a "modular warmth system" designed to be combined according to temperature and situation. Pieces such as the NOVA vest and NOVA fleece shacket can be worn on their own or layered together, allowing flexible use from transitional seasons through deep winter. NOVA's aesthetic carries over into a kids' line as well, widening the brand's reach with family customers. Silhouettes and fit will be adjusted by gender and age, while NOVA's signature light feel and refined design remain consistent throughout.
On early response, the company provided its own figures. According to Hazzys, during an online pre-order that ran for about two weeks from Sept. 4 to Sept. 17, NOVA accounted for roughly 75% of unique visitors (UV) to all new outerwear product detail pages in the first week after launch. The figure is based on detail-page visits, not sales volume.

"Lightweight padded jackets are now evolving beyond simply light, warm functional products into a category judged on its completeness as fashion outerwear, down to materials, color and silhouette," an LF Hazzys official said. "NOVA breaks away from the sports- and outdoor-driven conventions of the existing lightweight puffer and captures the premium casual sensibility of Hazzys." The official added, "Lightweight outerwear is a category in which accumulated expertise in material development and production matters. Building on the outerwear capabilities Hazzys has developed over many years, we plan to grow NOVA into a signature premium outerwear line the whole family, from adults to kids, can enjoy together."
